Overview

The Melissa Alert Service is a cloud based DBMS.

In addition to the functionality delivered by other cloud-based DBMSs, Melissa Alert Service can provide on-demand or scheduled processing using the same tools that Melissa offers on many other platforms.

Tutorial

Log-in

1. Visit https://alerts.melissa.com

2. When prompted, sign in with your melissa.com Account

   

Create Table

To create a table in the Melissa Alert Service web interface:

1. Click the Tables tab on the left hand side.

2. Click on the + under Create New Table.

   

3. Give the table a name and click Create.

   

4. You can now [Add records] to your newly created table.

   

Import Data

To import data into an existing table:

1. Click the Tables tab on the left hand side

   

2. Click the three dot menu … at the top right of the table you wish to work with.

   

3. Click Add Records.

4. You can either upload a new file or use an existing file that has been previously uploaded to populate the table with records. In this example, we will be uploading a file.

5. Click the blue + Choose button and select a file you wish to import (Files must be in .csv .doc .txt or .json format).

   

6. When you have selected your file you will be presented with the preview interface. Here you can preview the data as it came in as well as configure different import options.

   

7. Click the Import Options tab if you wish to customize the import process.

   

8. Once you are satisfied, click the green Add to <tablename> button and wait for the processing to complete.

   

9. When you see the green Thumbs Up icon, click it. And your table will be ready for use.

Export Data

To export data from an existing table:

1. Click the Tables tab on the left hand side.

   

2. Click the three dot menu … at the top right of the table you wish to work with.

   

3. Click Export Table.

4. Configure the export options as needed. If you wish, you can compress the file into a .zip with the Compressed Zip option.

   

5. Click the green + Export button to begin the export process.

6. When the export is ready for download, you will see a pop up at the bottom of the screen prompting to download the file.

7. Click the green Download button to initiate the download process.

   

Settings

Platform Dashboard

The Dashboard page gives a broad overview of your data in the Alerts system. Here you can find a summary of the number of records, number of tables, recent changes, as well as news about the Alert system.

Platform Tables

The tables page provides users an interface to create and interact with existing tables in the Melissa Alert Service.

Users can perform the following actions:

• Create and Delete tables

• Modify existing tables

• Insert or Delete rows

• Export data
