Licensing#

All Melissa Cloud APIs require a license in order to be accessed. This license is an encrypted series of letters, numbers, and symbols. This license can also either be a Credit license or a Subscription license. Both ways use the same service, so you do not need to change your code to move from one model to another.

Subscription#

The subscription model is our traditional model and the one most commonly used. Subscriptions are based on yearly anticipated usage and pricing is based on usage tiers, with lower per record costs for higher usage tiers. These are the benefits of Subscription Model:

  • Lowest cost available

  • Full technical support

  • Free trial access

  • Full functionality for all services

  • Higher Rate Limits allowed

Credits#

Our credit system allows developers instance access to most of our cloud APIs without the need to speak to a sales representative and without any commitments. You can try out our services quickly and easily. Here are the main differences as compared to Subscription:

  • Immediate Access

  • Not all features available but majority are

  • Use credits interchangeably between services without commitment

  • Lower Rate Limits allowed

Question: How do I find my license?#

If you are using a subscription, your Melissa CSR should have emailed you a license. You can also log in to your account on Melissa.com. On the main screen, there will be a box with your License Information.

Note

The first box will contain your Subscription license, the second your Credit license. Even if you are only using one, both will appear here. The difference is that your Subscription license will not be active or your Credit license will not have any credits.

You can also see how many credits your account currently has in your account page.
